Level Groups

2.0 - 2.49  Beginner

​This level is for players new to the game who are learning the rules and scorekeeping. Players are practicing serves and maintaining slow paced rallies against others of same skill level.

2.5 - 2.99  Advanced Beginner

​These players, while still new to the game, understand the fundamentals, basic rules and scorekeeping. They are able to hit with medium pace and some directional intent. 

3.0 - 3.49  Intermediate

​Players in this group have a solid grasp of the rules and technicalities of the game. They are able to vary their shots using pace and touch. Emerging skills include placement accuracy, court position awareness and footwork.

3.5 - 3.99  Adv Intermediate

Advanced Intermediate players have command of the game and can maintain long rallies using fast-paced shots mixed with dinks and directionally placed long shots. This player also incorporates shot strategies and angles and maximizes court position and footwork.

4.0 - 4.49  Advanced 

An Advanced level player consistently places long and short shots with precision and uses top spin and slice techniques. They are able to exploit the opponent's weakness and these players move in coordination with their partner.

4.5 +  Expert/Pro

​The 4.5+ player is distinguished from the 4.0 player by increased skills, a higher level of strategy, quickness of hands, judicious use of power, superior placement of shots and few unforced errors. Movement with partner and without the ball is fluid and almost flawless.
